downpipes
Hi guys,
My 65 LB has a nice 327 with straight 2" rams horns. Since I have lowered it 5" I want all the exhaust above the frame and out to the rear bumper. I have moved the trans linkage and have a new trans crossmember with plenty of clearance. I'll cut holes in the trailing arm crossmember. All this seems to be pretty standard , so the exhaust system must be common. Who makes downpipes in 2 1/4" tubing that fit this? Thanks,W |

Re: downpipes
Take it to a local exhaust shop & have it made.

Re: downpipes
You are going to have to visit a local shop and have it bent to fit. Nothing off the shelf is going to work.

Re: downpipes
Hows your driveline (drive shaft) look at that height going through the crossmember?

Re: downpipes
My 63 lwb is lowered quite a bit. Had my muffler guy route the exhaust on the outside of the frame rails from the ram horns all the way to the back. Oldschool sound with Brockman's. No clearance issues with the exhaust.

Re: downpipes
Well, the quote was $500.
That's why I asked. Since so many of the build threads make use of rams horns, and thru the crossmember routing, I thought someone would have been fabbing a whole system for this app. Thanks, W |

Re: downpipes
$500 is not bad at all. I dropped my GMC off to get exhaust work done...its stock stance with a 305 V6 and the quote was $400 with the mufflers.
