When I start to dial in my engine after some sort of repair or just a tune up. I have a vacuum gauge mounted in the engine compartment full time. It helps when setting everything up. I can just use a vacuum gauge reading alone to set the timing, carb air/fuel mixture, rpm.
But the other tools are very help full. Ken
