Re: billet hood hinges C10

Is there a less expensive way to get my hood to close better? Already tried working on the original hinges and now I'm running aftermarket ones.

I order mine from Willie!
Powder coated and new rivets and they work great. These are not billet but they are very nice factory hinges that work.

Here is the thread about them.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Andy how long have you had them on your truck and do they work as good now as when you first installed them? I have checked with Willie about having mine done ( one loose rivet so hood doesn't close properly) and he seemed like a great guy and I thought his price was extremely reasonable.

Talking Re: billet hood hinges C10

They are about 4 years old now and work fine. I spray them with lube every now and then!
One day maybe I will brake down and buy the billets!

After reading this I decided to look for the billet hinges again. So what I found was some very high dollar stuff like I did last time I looked @ several $600.00 hinges then I came across these. Has anybody used a set of these yet?

These are listed on EBay.

Crown Suspension Chevy GMC C10 K10 1967-72 Billet Hood Hinge Hinges Kit Machined

Thanks Andy. Those Billet Hinges look like the ones Eddie MotorSports sells and Summit has them.

Re: billet hood hinges C10

I'm running Ring Bros. air frame hinges on my '69. They are really nice and the hood closes very smooth. They weren't 'cheap', but for the quality & looks, I guess you could say there were reasonably priced.

Re: billet hood hinges C10

Those are both good looking hinges, but has anyone ever had problems with those hydraulic struts? I myself do not like them, as in hatch and hood cylinders.
The old school the hinges wear out before the springs. Guess it's about looks though. Just sayin'

Wow! Those are actually affordable. I hate dropping $650.00 for hood hinges but I like things that have lasted the test of time. Eddie Motorsports and Ring Bros definitely work but are you just paying for the name?

I looked these up on e bay and they are over $600.00! so at the Friday price I'm thinking real hard on them.
Have until Monday to buy them too!

The ones pictured in your Ebay link are from Eddie Motorsports. The previous hinges you posted a photo of from Rusty Nutz are not Eddie Motorsports. Ringbrothers are having a 15% off sale from Friday to Monday. That makes their hinges like $585.00. That's a little better but you then have to pay shipping.

Yes I know this, and the Rusty nuts are free shipping.
