Gutters

So my 1960 has no rain gutter "dimple" to allow the water to drain. I don't want to fill them.
I was thinking of drilling a small hole in a corner to help therm drain.
Dose any one have a better idea or solution?
thanks in advance

Re: Gutters

Mine has a small hole that looks like it was punched. Want me to get a pic of it for you? If it were me, I'd drill it.

Re: Gutters

my suburban and later trucks have those same holes, probably an "improvement" that gm did- maybe people were complaining about water just sitting in the gutter?

Re: Gutters

Thanks for the pics. I've seen those on later models and I agree they were added on to clear the drip rails.
Ok I ll drill a hole paint it and see what happens thanks again.

Re: Gutters

Taking the pictures just reminded me that I have to seam seal my gutters... which means getting the rust out of the gutters first. UGGHH!

Re: Gutters

Was just wondering if there was just the 2 holes, 1 on each side or is there ones by the front two ?
The reason I am asking is that the PO put sealer up there and blocked off the back holes.

I just looked again. No holes in front. The PO of mine took all of the seam sealer out so I can pretty much see all of the gutters.... and the rust! Luckily its not rot yet. Still gives me anxiety when I think about it though.

Thanks 63 GENIII.
I will drill out the sealer and touch up the paint.

I will have to double check, but I think my 65 has holes above the rain gutter on the front post, and in the back like the ones pictured.-4 total

Re: Gutters

4 holes, two on each side front and back.... as the photos shows a little more like a slot ( i put a zip tie in mine when resealing to keep clear).
