Some of the aftermarket pumps boast increased water flow. This can either be a good thing or bad depending on your current cooling system. Moving a lot of water quickly may always sound like a good thing, but running water too fast through your radiator may not cool it down enough. If you have a stock radiator, a standard flow pump is probably what you want. However, if you have a nice performance aluminum radiator, you could probably benefit from a high flow water pump.
