Headlights for 55-57 trucks
Found a pic of what looks like one of those bucket inset kits for the AD trucks that is on a 55. Are there "kits" available for the 55-57 series? or are these completely customized?
Ive seen the Autoloc universal french in kits, (not impressed) - are there any others out there?

I haven't seen any specific to the 55-57 fenders. I already eliminated the stock bezels on my fenders and haven't figured out what I'm going to do for lights yet. Kim |

Re: Headlights for 55-57 trucks
The lip that fits around the outside of the early trucks and cars is the raised section you see in the pic of the 55-57 trucks. It fits over the flat area where the head lights go.
I guess you could just set it deeper in to eliminate it. Kim |

Re: Headlights for 55-57 trucks
Ok so I found a customized way to do it and it looks like you already have one of the steps done. These guys used the old school Merc 52-54 headlight rings on a '55 that are available in a kit. Looks way nicer than the Autolocs....
Check this article: http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/interio...ch-headlights/ And the completed truck is here.... you gotta see this!!! http://www.starkustomshop.com/Star_K...dust.html#grid

Re: Headlights for 55-57 trucks
Saving and expanding the photo shows that the green and silver truck has the ugly Auto logic aka Haugen headlight rings that just look wrong on any rig. Wrong by the way the rigs are too wide and cover part of the actual headlight .

Re: Headlights for 55-57 trucks
Found a deal ($20 pair) on some merc headlight rings at the Goodguys car corral.... thankfully somebody out there actually TRYING to SELL some parts instead of just hauling them around and asking WAY TOO MUCH for them.
I cant believe what some guys think is GOLD at swap meets!!!! This "hot rodding hobby" has really gone to the 'make me rich quick' ideaology..... with all these assinine car building, bike building tv shows and such. Isnt it called a 'swap meet' for a reason???? rant over....
