Single Wall Top Hardware questions

I have yet to see a hard top installed in person and my blazer had the top off and parts scattered when I got it. I am wondering if I need to have weatherstrip between the bed rail and top and if there is any other brackets I need? I do not have my visors and I think I have to put the bolts thru the visor brackets. Thanks for any help

Take a picture of the parts you have. Maybe number them.
We can help you figure out what you need.

Subbed for this info. I just got a single wall and wonder if my double wall brackets are the same.

Second picture is what you need plus the sun visors. There is also rubber stoppers and hatch catches that bolt on with the back brackets. I can probably get you some pictures tonight if I get home in time.

Ok I have some of the brackets in the middle of that second pic. I just have a tub of parts and don't know where anything goes. Is there weatherstrip that goes between top and bed?

Re: Single Wall Top Hardware questions

The two small L shaped brackets go on the windshield header between the visors and bolt to the top. The larger brackets go in the back two corners of the top and hold the hatch catches and bump stops while also bolting to the bed. Yes there is rubber between the top and the bed. Check out LMC truck and their catalog has the blazer parts in a schematic layout to get an idea where things go. The top parts are a little difficult to come by so take a picture and we can tell you what's missing. You also need chrome strips that hold the top to the length of the bed. By the way Wes on here had reproduced the bump stops which are pretty much impossible to find in good shape. Look on the blazer parts board for his post. He may still have more, I bought three sets myself.

Re: Single Wall Top Hardware questions

One more thing is yes the visors do bolt to the top. They are blazer specific and truck visors are completely different.

Re: Single Wall Top Hardware questions

Just flat strips that are about three feet long. They lay flat on top of the lip To sandwich the top to the bed.

Re: Single Wall Top Hardware questions

Would a fabricated piece of metal work as a hold down strip? I know I do not have those.
Thanks, it will be a little while before I can get it all together but thanks for the help so far.

Re: Single Wall Top Hardware questions

That would work. Its better to have the strip so it spreads the tension from the bolt and doesn't crack the top.
