Anyone bought a new radiator lately?

So this will be my second new one in a year from O'reileys auto parts. Under warranty thank you but coolant is getting expensive to replace....72 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive automatic.

However now the replacement is raw aluminum with black plastic tanks instead of a thicker core metal tank like last time.

Doesn't look really original at all....options?

eBay. I got a champion with dual electric fan for $160 or $180. Can't remember exact price. Works good. Truck don't run hot at all. I have the fans mounted to the front behind the grill and I've never even had to turn them on

This is like the one I bought. I might of paid more than $180 for mine. It's been awhile. It's in my daily driver. Don't leak don't get hot at all

Yes I had someone build me a new radiator utilizing an INDUSTRIAL FORKLIFT CORE.

My truck will barely make it up to normal operating temperature now, especially when I turn the heater on and watch the temp gauge drop 20 degrees .

Yeas, I went the other route, ole skool, brass and copper, 4 core.

I can still flush my system the real way with the proper chemicals that eat red oxide out of the block and not harm my cooling system with the exception of the lifetime water pump from NAPA. (Not A Perfect Accessory)!

The one I'm looking at costs $389. Per the seller, should fit right in.

Bought a Spectra(?) radiator that was supposed to be an exact replacement from Rockauto for about $165 plus shipping. The spot where the tank & core comes together is about 1/2 to 3/4 inch wider than the stock core so I wasn't able to mount it to my stock radiator mounts. I posted that here and I got a reply back saying they took out the rubber mounts and cut up some garden hose and put it in the brackets. That was a good suggestion & I tried it. It worked in helping to secure the radiator but it still sat about 3/4 inch higher because the wider size of the tanks would not allow the radiator to fit all the way down into the lower mounting brackets. The result was that the top shroud mounts are about 3/4 inch above the level of the mounting holes on the shroud. I kept the shroud at its original height by making these clips that I bolted to the mount and also mounted to the shroud below. (See picture)
I'm sure that someone smarter than me could figure out a more elegant solution. While I was trying to figure out how to make this crazy thing fit, I went ahead & took my original, 48 year old plugged up radiator to a radiator shop. He popped off the top tank, rodded it out, cleaned it up and said it was in pretty fair shape, especially for it's age and flowing really well. It cost me $146. I've already mounted the Spectra, scratched it up a bit trying to get it to fit, so there's no going back with it. I'll run it till it dies and keep my original. I'm posting this so others will know that 'exact replacement' wasn't the case with this radiator. At least on my old 67.

yeah, I have bought radiators with lifetime warranties and I never get rid of my vehicles...So when I need a new radiator,I get what they have and all they have now as replacements for the old brass ones are the plastic and aluminum,so far I have had pretty good luck with them but would rather have the brass for originality.......
