Question Source for Steering Column Half Moon connector

HELP! Anyone know where I can find a replacement connector for the turn signal switch that plugs in under the dash/column and is shaped like a half moon or circle. 8 Pins I think have to look again!!! Or maybe a place to get the pins for the harness. Any help appreciated. Maybe someone removed their stock harness and would be willing to sell me the connector?

thanks
Craig

Re: Source for Steering Column Half Moon connector

I guess I forgot to mention that I have searched all over the internet for one. I've searched the truck sites as well as a dozen connector suppliers and everything I could think of including Ebay. I was going to post a WTB ad in the forum classifieds but my privileges aren't good enough or something. I've asked the moderator for an assist on that issue but until then I need any recommendations I can get so thanks . What gets me is that one or more of the vendors sell an adapter that has the half moon on one end and a straight connector on the other so somewhere they get the connector to make the adapter. If I only knew where!!!

You can't post a WTB unless you are a Premium (paying) member. If you PM me your name & address I will send you one free of charge.... I would need to know which half you need. I think the terminals are available through NAPA but I can't remember the part number.

Arrow Re: Source for Steering Column Half Moon connector

LockDoc, thanks again for the help. I looked at the connector again today and its broken in two places. So it definitely needs changed. I tried to get some of the pins out but didn't have any luck. I have the tool to release the 56 female type pins for the other gm spade lug connectors but I don't know how to get these smaller ones out. I also stopped by my local NAPA dealer and they don't have anything that resembles the pins I have.
I'm also having trouble getting the 56 Male type out of some of the plugs. If you have any tips on that I'd appreciate it. Anyway This truck is a real challenge and I thank you for your help. If you have and will PM/send my your pay pal account I can at least reimburse you for the postage.

THANKS
Craig

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

If I remember correctly the pins in the half moon connector have a release on both sides instead of just the one on the back side. I could be wrong. On the 56's I just use a small flat blade screwdriver to push the lock over. I have also used a small pair of needle nose pliers. You can get in on an angle with the small ones to get a grip on the lock.

Don't worry about the postage. I will send it in a padded envelope by USPS First Class Mail so it won't amount to much. Just pay it forward if you get the chance....

I have also had good luck soldering the wires together and using heat shrink tubing on them for a permanent connection instead of removing the pins from the connector.

Mouser.com has the terminals, they are called Twin Lock Terminals:

http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/...Euq7Cedqnns%3d

They list them as Female but they are actually Male/Female. The terminals in both sides of the half moon connector are exactly the same, they are just inserted into the connectors in the opposite direction..

For Andy 4639, Thank for the leads but I'm looking for the original stuff and these are adapters for later model steering columns. I appreciate the links though.

LocDoc, has me covered and I really appreciate all the help.

Understand. I figured others may want the adapters and also you could pull the pins out and use the half moon part also if you need to.
