Re: Bagged '62 Big Window Short Fleet
Nice truck. I am really thinking hard about switching my truck over to air ride.

Re: Bagged '62 Big Window Short Fleet
nice truck! I saved shots of it when you first posted, because it looks so cool.
I would like to see a shot of it at ride height, does the accu air automatically raise it to drive height, and then slam it when you park?

Re: Bagged '62 Big Window Short Fleet
Some updates to speak of:
I had created a separate thread for swapping cams, as the Howards unit in the motor was much too large and made it run like a pig. I chose a smaller Lunati model which was recommended by board members. Here is the motor town down for the swap: Pushrods and lifters out, some cleaning and painting going on: Here's the finished product after proper break in. I ended up painting the manifold, water jacket, fan shroud and brackets, swapping to a different set of valve covers, new plug wires and looms, adding a PCV through the road draft plug, etc. Motor runs amazingly well, totally driveable and I could not be happier. Also whipped up a mount for my Accuair controller out of aluminum. I prefer it to be mounted than slide around on my console or seat. Not positive if I love the location so far but I do like it. Still needs to final sanding and paint. Don't mind the missing door panels haha, I was investigating mirror mounting holes. Here is ride height, as asked for above. If I ever get new radials, they will most likely be shorter (easier to turn down low). Very satisfied with the stance. And one more idle video to hear the mufflers. Night and day to before, when idle was barely possible. Took her to a little cars and coffee event yesterday morning, got a lot of attention. Felt amazing to get out and cruise. Now it's on to lots of little fixes to get everything dialed in. Next on the to-do list: Door mirrors - stainless / round Mount interior rear view mirror Buy side trim and mount - have read good things about GMC Pauls vs LMC Wire headlights/ tail lights/ turn indicators - only have brake lights as of now Sound/ Heat barrier on floor and firewall - not sure I want peel n seal just yet Door rubber - definitely going the Honda press on route, want to find at a pick a part Plan my fauxtina paint job Thanks for the interest everyone! |

Re: Bagged '62 Big Window Short Fleet
I like what you've done so far. The Accuair controller mount is a great idea.
