Rebuilding my dome light
I need to replace my dome and cargo light. It is a 3/4" light socket. Any idea where I can get just the sockets? I have seen the harness's for sale but they are like $60+
Should be cheap but the autozones have a socket that takes the 1157 I think bulb but that is a double eliment bulb and only one lights and it is dim

Re: Rebuilding my dome light
I had to do the same. I got my stuff from LMC.

Re: Rebuilding my dome light
That is cheaper than classic parts but I am looking for just the sockets. I built the rest of the harness from scratch

Re: Rebuilding my dome light
I tried that too, just didn't have any luck. So I just replaced everything with the stuff from LMC. Maybe you'll have better luck finding one.

Re: Rebuilding my dome light
My wires are melted at the plugs and at the light base. Not sure why as the dome and cargo lights are never on very long

Re: Rebuilding my dome light
I searched high and low for a socket for the lights. Ended up buying the guts for the socket at autozone and rebuilt one of my Sockets. Not the best configuration but it works. The other socket was still good. I will shop for new sockets and replace if I can. For now this will work. Maybe a junk yard buy

Re: Rebuilding my dome light
I found the solution. Pick up a Dorman Universal Double Contact Socket, Part Number 85803 from Auto zone. This is for an 1157 bulb. Pull the guts out. Take your original harness and rip the guts of that socket. Took a little work with a pair of needle nose pliers, but it came out. The auto zone guts slid right in and fit perfect. problem solved. Took some time, but I was determined.
