Talking gas pedal

I have a 71 chev that i am swaping motors , it has a cable throttle linkage ,
can i change it to older style lever and rod style , what year should i get,
any help ??

This is the first time I have ever heard of anyone going that direction. Usually it is going from linkage to cable and since that is do-able I guess you could go the other way. It will take some fabrication to the firewall. You would need the pedal assembly and linkage rod from a '67-'70 Chevy or GMC truck....

Do you mind if I ask what the reasoning is for the cable replacement?

swapping motors, am missing bracket that cable goes into on carb and am swaping to edelbrock carb and cable gromet is broken,
am looking for parts, and info thanks.

67-70 v8 rod and linkage should work but as stated you will have to slightly modify the firewall.

still looking , cable looks usable, but gromet on end is rotten and broken, have looked for
carb bracket some aftermarket are availible, any help would be helpfull

Just buy a new cable. Much easier to do a motor/carb/intake etc. swap with a cable versus the mechanical linkage.

X2 you can always find the carb bracket. They were used on GM cars too.

thanks for the help, I found the new cable today at CHEVY METAL in vancouver wash,
and found the original bracket for q-jet carb, and a universal one at napa
where I live, something will work with a little time invested, also found the cable in the brothers truck catalog also.
I am new to c 10 illness and working on a frame off resto with help of a freind
so I may ask for help again. THANKS
