I also have the files that Ben sent me. I can send them to you as well in case Ben is busy. I will also install CAD on my computer. I have an older copy, so I'll see if I can troubleshoot the sizing issue.

PM me your email and I'll forward you the files.

I am working on getting a cad drawing of the ash tray decal too, I now know this wasn't factory, but someone else may want it.
Have a good one!

Re: CAD drawing of the dash bezel wood grain decal

I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier. Here are both file formats for CAD. I zipped them. You'll need to download them to your computer, and open them there. I hope this helps. I'll still try to find some time to re-convert these without loosing their size.
Attached Files
File Type: zip 71 CHEVY DASH (1).zip (93.3 KB, 35 views)

Re: CAD drawing of the dash bezel wood grain decal

I have bend tech 7 plate it lets me make dxf files that I can use to make parts on a computer controlled plasma or milling machine . I am only beginning to be able to use it ok but I am getting better wish I paid more attention in math class for all those radius and angle dimentions . I will try to measure my ashtray and see if I can get your design for you mine is a 67 don't know if there is any diffrences for what you need but from what I have read they are different somehow .

Wow - Dat wuz a nice piece o' thinkin'!

I sure didn't think of it (saving the unsupported file format as a .zip file); and I was wracking my brain - dare I say it but neither did any of the other (how many?) folks who read the post.. so I'd say way to go!

And thanks to Ben for going out of his way and sending me the CAD versions of the files.

Re: CAD drawing of the dash bezel wood grain decal

Looks great! and you got it lined up or aligned perfectly with the chrome trim rings around each gauge - nice work and bet you could sell a lot of these if you put them on this site or EBay..

By the way the Dec 3 edition of Nature there is an article about folks at Cornell have figured out how to make real Mother of Pearl but probably a few years out but here is the article

If you have the file on a PC, perform the following steps:

1. right click on the file
2. click "send to"
3. Choose "compressed (zipped) folder"
4. Done. You now have your file in a zipped folder. It saves the zipped folder to the same location as your original folder.

When you go to attach your file to a reply post on this thread, do the following:

Go advanced if you don't see the paperclip icon.

1. Click the paperclip icon.
2. click the "Choose File" button
3. find the location of your zipped folder, and clip "Open"
4. Click the "Upload" button.

You're done!

Or you can PM me and I'll send you my email and I'll attach it for you.

Richard
