Re: Found a Spicer Brown Lipe auxiliary 3 speed transmission in the junkyard today.

I drove one a few times in an 8 ton crane truck when i was younger, i found it easier to just leave the brownie in D and drive the 4 speed like normal, didn't get enough drive time to get really good at it but thought it was pretty cool, unfortunately i cannot be certain of the shift pattern for that truck and don't know what model transmission it had. I am pretty sure tho that it was not Lo-1234, D-1234, O-1234.


Best advice i can give it figure out all the gear ratios of the transmission and brownie on paper, then combine each 12 combinations and find each overall ratio then write the position of the shifter's down in order at least until memorized.
