76 Cheyene Wheel fitment
So, I just purchased a set of 15x10 Rally wheels with a 4.5 backspacing. Needless to say they did not work. The wheel guru assured me these would work so reluctantly I took his word. I plan on ordering a 5.5 backspacing because 5 inches looks to be a little shallow too. It looks like the optimal would be 5.25 backspacing. anyone else running a 5.25 or 5.5 backspacing on a 15x10 square with a 5/7 drop?

I'm running a set of 15x10 rally's in the rear of my 77 with a 4.5/6 drop with no problem. I believe they are 5 inch backspacing, though im not sure. Theyre stamped 1984, so I'm assuming theyre rallys of a 1984 truck

This is 15x10 rallys with 5in bs with 295/50/15 tires. There is 1/4in clearance on the outside and about 1in clearance on the inside. A 5.5in bs would perfectly center the wheel(3/4in outside and 3/4in inside)

I think you are confused on your terminology.
Wheel backspacing is measured on the back side of the wheel. Your original 4.5" bs wheels would stick out 1" more than your 5.5" bs wheels. More lip on the front side of the wheel with the 4.5" bs.

4.5" bs (backspacing) was too shallow. Meaning, they stuck out too far and not enough rim to the inside. 5" bs would not have left much room for tire flex on the outside so I went with a 5.5" bs which was too far in by 1/4 inch but still work especially with a 1/4" spacer. Thus the conclusion 5.25 bs would have been perfect.

I had 5" on mine with 275/60 with 6" drop an had room for tire flex so dont see how u figured that out
