Most women like the strong, silent type… Fortunately for me, my wife prefers the out-of-shape, mouthy type.

MY 68 C30 longhorn has/had a 350/400 small hump also. I converted to a 454 and still have the low hump. Plenty of room, can get my hand all around it to put in the bell housing bolts

Re: TH400 behind a 350 OEM, when and why?

My 68 C30 "Cab and Chassis" came from the factory with a 327 and turbo 400. Stranger yet, it came with no Park. None. No marking on the column, or park pawl in the transmission (had to have one installed). It went to Open Road where they proceeded to extend the wheelbase from 157" to 175" before they put 2 tons of motorhome on it. So the 400 was definitely needed.
