Wheel Question

I recently bought an 83 K10. The previous owner has done : swapped axles from a 3/4, installed newer (02-06) wheels, a 4 inch Rough Country lift, and put on new 315-75R16 BFGs. When you make a full turn the tires rub the pitman arm and the the spring. I know the wheels are the issue. Can anyone tell me some specs for what I will need to get new wheels to correct this problem or is there something else I should be looking at other than the wheels?

Re: Wheel Question

Newer vehicles tend to allow for wheels with a deeper offset, which could be what you're running. I'm running 315-75R16 BFG TA KO2s on my '72 K2500 with a 4" lift. My wheels are 16x10 with a 5" offset, and I get no rubbing.

Try taking off your wheels and measure the offset.

I think I've only ever had 4" back spaced wheels on my 67-72's and square body chevs.

Re: Wheel Question

I have 4.5" backspace 9.75 wide 16.5 Centerlines on my Jimmy with swapped in 3/4 ton axles and that seems ideal running 35 12.5 16.5. But anything between 4 and 5 should be OK on a 10" rim.

Re: Wheel Question

I was looking at these.....http://www.4wheelparts.com/Wheels/Se...n=PXA1069-6882

They also make the same wheel in a 16x10. If I get these will the tire rub something else and cause more problems?

Re: Wheel Question

Too wide or too much offset then they will rub on the rear part of fender. I'd do the 8"

Re: Wheel Question

If you like the wheels you have just do a search on those interwebs for "wheel spacer" or "wheel adapter" they cost a lot less than dropping major $$ for new wheels. If you get a 1/4" or 1/2" spacer I am sure it will cure the rubbing issue. If you don't like those wheels then knock yourself out trying to find wheels you do like.

Re: Wheel Question

Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate the help. The wheels I have are nothing special. Just a newer 16 aluminum wheel. It kinda looks like a snowflake? I would rather have a better wheel. The tires are brand new so I definitely want to keep those.

Re: Wheel Question

Ok lets say I decide on spacers. Will it be enough to push the wheels out?
