My new 66 Suburban
I've been looking for this truck pretty much all my life, and I found it on ebay about a month ago. It took a month to get it home, from CA to MD.
It's a 1966 Suburban set up as a C20 with 4WD upgrades, a 454 engine, and factory A/C. A father/son team were the 2nd owners for 35 years and it was restored in the early 2000s. It has about 35,000 miles since then. It's sitting next to my 2500 4WD extended cab Silverado. The Suburban is about 18+ shorter than my Silverado. I love that these are built on the short pickup wheelbase of 115" Suburban owner now for life... |

Re: My new 66 Suburban
I'm tired of you guys from elsewhere poaching our trucks and burbs! They belong here!
Joking. Having to travel seems to be more of the norm now. Enjoy your new truck. |

I agree about more pictures. Show us the whole thing ! Did you drive it ffrom CA or ship it ? I am guessing that it gets about 3 gallons to the mile ? Enjoy the ride.

Re: My new 66 Suburban
Sorry for the late reply fellas. I did love the comment - quit stealin our 'burbs to which I reply - thank you for your dry storage!
Here are a couple pics. It's got a 454, factory air, 3/4 ton suspension, Atlas 2 transfer case, lifted with 35" tires, Detroit Corporate rear and air lockers on 10-bolt front, with a 634 watt sound system. In response to the ?s, I shipped it home from Sacramento to Baltimore, MD for $1700. MPG? hahahaha. Maybe 6 or 7 mpg, but at $250 for premium, no problem! It took a month from when I hit the buy button on ebay until it got home because shippers weren't interested until I upped the listing to $1450 to $1700. Re: My new 66 Suburban
nice! how tall is the lift?
the 35's look good on there. I am still wondering if I want 33's or 35's on mine , my lift is 4 inches.

I say 6 inches because that's how much spacer is under the leaf springs on the back axle. The front leaf springs have just an inch or less between them and the axle. $4inch with 33s would probably look good. |

Re: My new 66 Suburban
thanks, I bet 33's will be best then.
I'm gonna have to come up with some sort of handle on the pass. side (inside) so the wife and kids can climb in!
