Re: Seat fold forward on 69

I thought most of them did fold forward?? Mine in my 72 did but I got a seat from a 69 that didnt. The 69 seat had a bracket bolted on it that locked it out. I got rid of the 72 seat and the 69 is in storage otherwise Id grab a pic for ya. EDIT- Not sure if either of my seats were correct to the truck. They were C10, but possibly wrong years

67-68 folded and 69-72 didn't. Easy modification:

You can modify the newer seat to fold by removing the bolt on the passenger side by the hinge, fold seat forward and replace the bolt. You will need to modify the seat cover in order for this to work as the stock cover covers the arm attaching back to the bottom.

My 69 seat has 2 bolts on each side. If the top ones are removed the seat would tilt forward with a little modification, spacing the bracket away from the seat so as not to wear into the fabric but then it has to be locked back into position. I can probably fab something but would appreciate ideas from other members who have done this.

Re: Seat fold forward on 69

It has to be possible, GM made these trucks to accept most option with little or no modification.

Look at the Frames, 1/2 & 3/4 ton both 2 and 4 wheel drive are the same, just some stuff mounted into different locations with holes pre-drilled in the proper locations.

I need to do that to my truck as I will be recovering the seat soon!
