Battery size

Its time for me to get a new battery, my Optima red top with only 10k miles on it took a crap on me. I have a crate carbureted 'stock' 350, will be adding ac soon. What battery group size should I be looking at?

Re: Battery size

This This is what I've been running for the last two years with zero issues. 350 with a cam and mild compression bump.

Optima quality seems to have gone downhill over the last 5-10 years. I was big into the 4x4 scene before I got into C10's; they used to be THE battery. There are multiple threads out there with Optima reps basically saying they're only a 2-3 year battery now.

Re: Battery size

I don't think miles have much to do w/ battery life. Usage, charge, and age are what I think about.
I usually get ~4 years from a battery in a vehicle that gets driven all the time. Less in others, and less still if I forget to charge them.

I have to go put the charger on a battery...

I look for dimensions, top posts, CCA, and post orientation. I haven't learned group size so I may be a moron...
