I was certainly shocked at how nice it looks. Paint is a little thin in some spots(primer showing through).I'm not to fond of the color combo on the truck(Med. Olive w/ Dark Olive trim) so I will be changing the colors when the body work is done but at least it looks decent now. Not bad for a $200.00 Burb!

I did cheat a little and use an electric buffer(actually my trusty Craftsman 7" Industrial Grinder) but it still was a P.I.T.A.

I am going to buff the grill with either Mothers Alum. Polish or white jewlers rouge(whichever works better) and repaint the insert.

Thanks for the compliments!
Joe

Could you stop by and give that treatment to my Harley? It would blind everyone on the road with a shine like that on it!

Here's a pic of what I used....

The compound is 3M "Perfect It II". It is a FAST cutting proffesional compound. Be very carefull when using this as it WILL remove oxidation as well as paint if your not on your toes...

The glaze is 3M "Imperial Machine Glaze". This brings out a little deeper shine to the paint. Not the best stuff I've used but it works.

These are proffesional detailing products and will not be found in PepBoys or AutoZone. You can find them at your local bodyshop paint supply store though. The compound was somewhere around $23.00/qt. The glaze I believe was $14.

The wax I used was Meguiar's #26 Yellow paste wax.
