4/6 or 5/7 drop with 26" tires
OK, I've spent the last 1 1/2 hours searching the boards and still haven't found what I'm looking for. Does anyone have a truck(stepside preferrably) with a 4/6 or 5/7 drop and about a 26" tire? Everything I've found seems to have between 27-29" tires. I'm curious to see if a shorter tire will look goofy or not.

Re: 4/6 or 5/7 drop with 26" tires
Here ya go.
245/40/18's, 335/30/18's - probably close to the tire size you're actually wanting to run if I remember your previous threads correctly. First pic is when I mocked up before paint with a 4.5/6 drop. The other two are a 5.5/7.5 drop. In the last pic, the rear wheels look weird and are tucked too much because I had my rear axle housing narrowed to fit the Schott wheels that I'm running now. I just threw the Boss wheels back on to get an alignment so my other wheels wouldn't get scratched up.

Ece 4/6 with 1 3/8" block. 235/75/15 thinkin they are 28" tall
With laying frame one can pull off the short tire look. But once you start getting a big gap between the tire and fender they look kinda "off". I was hoping the weight of the bb would bring the front down a lil' more but it didnt.

255/60/15 ... 26" tall. not sure about the exact amt. of drop though. 2.5 spindles w/ 1 coil cut on the front and 4" springs (ebay cheap) rear w/1" block. I need rear titres too, trying to decide if I'll buy 275's.

Re: 4/6 or 5/7 drop with 26" tires
I'm thinking of trying to stay on the cheap and buy new tires for the 17's I currently have, but I can only find tires in the 25-26" range. I'm thinking about running a Continental ExtremeContact DW in 255/45/17 front, 285/40/17 rear. Both are right at 26" tall. My current drop is 4.5/6.75.

Matt -- I'd be careful on the scrub line in the rear. Do you have OE trailing arms on the truck now or tubular?
I cant remember how your truck is dropped, are you using blocks in the back or drop springs? Have your shocks been relocated? http://www.nolimit.net/tech-center/6...on-kit-1963-72

Not sure of the tire height, but tires are 275/60/15 all around. Drop is ECE 4.5/6.25.

I can't currently use the NoLimit shock brackets because my fuel pump is mounted where the brackets would mount. I'm basically just wanting to put lower profile tires on my current 17" wheels.

They were Nitto NT450 tires. I had 255/50-17's and 275/50-17's. They didn't look small at all and were very affordable. http://www.nittotire.com/passenger-t...formance-tire/

Wheel tire choice is subjective and personal, but almost universally the taller tires make for a better looking truck IMO. But once again that's just an opinion...

If I were just keeping the truck as a cruiser/show truck, I'd go with the Nitto NT450. It's hard to beat that size on these trucks. They're just the kind of tires I want for what I intend to do with the truck.

Re: 4/6 or 5/7 drop with 26" tires
I don't know how the 275 60 15 do not rub on the front of that truck^^^^^^^^^^^^ I have always found it necessary to used van 6.5 rims and a skinny tire to prevent rubbing
