how to add PVC and Oil filler cap to new valve covers
Ok, so i bought a nice set of brand new aluminum valve covers that do not have provisions for a PVC or an oil filler cap.
1.) So, if i am not mistaken, i can get a PVC valve and grommet setup, drill a hole in the valve covers for the grommet and PVC. Does it matter what side the PVC goes to? 2.) I am not sure what i can do for an oil filler cap. from what i can tell there are no provisions on the underside of the valve cover for this. So i am looking for some ideas here. One is to find a bung that can be welded to the valve cover that i could then put a screw in plug. Not the best, but with a funnel it could work, the only bad thing is that i do not have a heliarc or know someone who does. So any other ideas is appreciated. Thanks for the help. attached is a pic of the covers |

There are several different caps like this. Just drill a hole and install a grommet. I would use something on both sides. Use as the oil fill also.

I assume the valve covers don't have an oil baffle inside though? Sometimes that can lead to a bit of oil getting into the pcv valve.

Make sure the grommets you get are baffled. Otherwise you will be sucking up oil, and that can be messy.
I have my pvc on the passenger rear and the oil filler/vent on the driver front. Works the best with plumbing from the carb etc. cheers. ray

x 10 on using a baffle under the PCV valve. You would be surprised at how much oil can be sucked into the PCV valve and burned in the engine. Ask me how I know
I don't have an oil filler on my custom aluminum valve covers. I just pull the PCV valve and add oil with a funnel. |

Luckily I have a good memory! Actually, I'm quite the hoarder, just don't keep anything on my cell... Thumbs too big. Had to type this reply about 5 times forbittoevenreadcirreclty.

Re: how to add PVC and Oil filler cap to new valve covers
This is how i did my Brodix covers. only have a pic of one cover but 1 has a welded bung for the filler and a gromet for the pcv and the other cover has a gromet for the breather. used some 22 gauge sheet aluminum for the baffels

Re: how to add PVC and Oil filler cap to new valve covers
Is that all there is to your baffle? Just the piece of aluminum raised with the sides open? I'm just curious because I may go that route with my covers.
Thanks
