Re: looking for rear diff for 63

Ya know that 63 rear end is a odd ball kinda. backing plates are pressed on so it's hard to do a disc convert if ya ever decide to and it's impossible to find good used or new axles cause their 17 spline. My 63 axles had bad wear spots at the bearing surface. They all do. It's a bad design. IMO. 64 thru mid 71 will fit. I used a 66 for mine. everything was the same except the panhead bar. I made the old fit. no big deal

A '63 to early '70 12 bolt will be basically the same. The '63 & '64 12 bolt are the same except fopr the backing plates. The '65-'70 have a different panhard bar but that's nothing a little tweak of the bar can't fix. Also the '65 and up 12 bolt will have the 30 spline axles.

Re: looking for rear diff for 63

Late '70........that is why I said '63 to early '70. In '71 the C10's started receiving the 5 x 5" wheel stud pattern but of course the K5's and K10's still had the 6 x 5.5" wheel stud pattern.
