Shock Question? 74 Crossmember and stock location 62 Rear shocks?
what shocks is everyone using for the newer crossmember swap?
Howabout rear shocks for the 62 thats been lowered about 5 inches?

nobody has any shock info for lowered 60-62 rear shocks? looked through the FAQ and didn't see anything on the early ones.

I used drop spindles on my conversion, so was able to use stock shocks in front.
As far as the rear goes, you could contact KYB Customer service and ask them what they have available in a shorter shock with the same mounting tabs

Some guys that relocate the rear shocks on lowered '63-'72's use stock front shocks. Not sure if those will work on a '60-'62 without relocating the upper mount. Shocks will work better the more vertical they are mounted.
For the front, there are many suppliers of shocks for dropped front suspensions of the '63-'87 trucks. If you are looking for a cheaper off the shelf shock, you will need the length you need at ride height and find a shock that has a extended and compressed length that your needed length fits within, allowing for a little more compression than extension..
