82 Emblems

I bought a 82 step side, is the emblems on a 82 on with tape or nuts? On one side the emblem is there. The other it's gone , no hole in fender. Actually the other side emblem is a little rough so was going to replace both. I assume it's on with tape but not sure. Any help appreciated,,

Re: 82 Emblems

I always thought it was held on with nuts on the inside but you say the one side has no hole. Now you got me thinking!!

Re: 82 Emblems

The fender emblems were held on with two nuts on each side. Starting in '88 or '89 the fenders had no holes because the emblems were on the lower part of the doors. Is it possible you have a later fender?

Re: 82 Emblems

my 82 had nuts.... perhaps you have aftermarket fenders and the guy just put them on with two sided tape?

Re: 82 Emblems

Really not sure, just thought odd, one side no hole. Maybe on a reprint he closed hole. I assume the side with emblem is double side tape. Guess I'll find out when try to remove!!!

Re: 82 Emblems

I have had (4) 82's through the years.... currently restoring a 82 6.2 diesel with the rare A833 manual overdrive. Yes, all had holes for the emblems. Someone has changed your fender. I have measured/drilled holes in the past..... have also glued emblems on.
