Re: Wanted 71-72 Cheyenne Hugger Orange/White

Also looks to be a run on the interior in the closeup picture of the dash....makes you wonder what the rest of the paint looks like and the overall quality of the build....pictures can be deceiving....

...plus there's no white

Zoomin, I had seen that truck. Truthly I would rather stay away from dealers.

VA72C10, ...plus there's no white
although that Orange 72 GMC looked good in solid Orange.

Thanks guys for keeping an eye for me.

It is a sweet truck. Surprised they didn't put the super panels on the dash....might just not like the woodgrain...

Been making me re-think the whole stock resto...maybe I should paint mine like that and put the same wheels on just kidding. But it either

A) shows there is still money in the market for really nice trucks as five different people bid over 30K for it.
....or....
B) shows he has five friends who tried to bid it up to the reserve

Makes me excited that I will have some bidders around that amount for mine when finished. I plan to have a truck just as nice on the exterior, undercarriage, and the engine bay, but with a nicer, more original SUPER interior

Re: Wanted 71-72 Cheyenne Hugger Orange/White

Since you brought it back up....two things that bothered me from his description....

Quote:
Interior - found a complete NOS interior still in the boxes or plastic including, new bucket seats, console, door panels, headliner and carpet.

No Bondo or filler used, totally rust and dent free to begin with.
I find both pretty hard to believe...possibly rust and dent free but unlikely there is ZERO filler. And where do you find bucket seats in a box?....

...and the carpet wouldn't have installed the way it was if it was NOS...would have been higher up and screwed into the back of the cab.....unless they just cut it off....

Re: Wanted 71-72 Cheyenne Hugger Orange/White

I believe that truck had a buy it now for around $50000 when it first came on Ebay. It is a nice mild modified truck (way out of my range though ) I am just looking for a original driver SWB.

I'd like to find some NOS bucket seats too! Another thing about that truck, and maybe I'm just too picky, but how do you build something to that high of standards and not know where to put the super emblem on the drivers side? Pretty close on the passenger side, just a little too low, But the drivers side isn't even close? And the 400 emblems, well at least they didn't put them above the marker lights....
