Re: True Grit- '51 AD/S10 swap

Picked up a couple of CL deals. OG set of gauges (my truck didn't come with any) and some Corvette C6 wheels and tires. I really hope the wheels will work out- haven't been able to test fit them yet. I want to use the stock gauges if at all possible but refurb or new ones can get quite pricey. I really like Skymans work on Cecil and his gauge option. Might end up doing something like that.

Re: True Grit- '51 AD/S10 swap

Went to a local show a couple of weeks ago. Strong showing by the AD trucks. These were a couple of my faves.

Re: True Grit- '51 AD/S10 swap

Went out to finish stripping the s10 the other day and got side tracked moving my old metal around. I haven't seen my truck together since I've had it, so I decided to mock it up a little. It was really cool to see it start looking like a truck again. I also found a couple of pic the PO sent me before he disassembled it. The old girl is a little rough!!

Re: True Grit- '51 AD/S10 swap

Thanks so much for checking in! I'll do a full update later today or tomorrow but I've mostly been collecting for the build. I've been helping my friend with his '49 mostly, he's much further along than I am.

Can't wait to see how yours comes along!!

3/19- man, time sure flies by! I've mostly been collecting stuff, picked up several good deals.

Dodge Durango second row seat, $50 from our local pull and save- thanks to Chev3600 for the idea!

Re: True Grit- '51 AD/S10 swap

Got this tach off eBay for $35 shipped. Not sure how/if I'll work it in but thought it was worth trying

I also got both outer and inner cab corner patch panels from fixmyrust on eBay. $100 shipped for all. They will offer free shipping on their stuff if you watch for it. Otherwise it would have been another $80 for shipping.

Re: True Grit- '51 AD/S10 swap

Repainted the back pieces on my grill bars. Blue on top of black on top of the green. I plan on sanding over it to see what kind of fauxtina I can create.

Re: True Grit- '51 AD/S10 swap

Back together with a $12 bolt kit from Classic Ind.

Put it on the deck to get it out of the kitchen. Who knew the weatherman around here would get it right about the ice storm. A little freeze dried I guess!

Re: True Grit- '51 AD/S10 swap

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to spread the word around about Chris Klapp, aka Skymangs/Ole Sarge. If you're a 47-53 reader, you probably know him from several of the s10 swaps and his how-to sticky. Chris was seriously injured in a garage fire a couple of weeks ago. I have copied and pasted some info from other forum posts below. Oossuuu754 (Shawn) started a GoFundMe account to help his family out. I wanted to pass this info along in case any if you wanted to help out.

Thx,

Greg

Most of you know that Chris was injured very badly in a shop fire a couple weeks ago. I have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help Chris (AKA SKYMANGS, Ole Sarge) and his family with medical expenses. Please share this with as many people as possible. Chris was the first to help with any questions, lets see if we can help him out here: Chris Klapp, AKA: SKYMANGS, Ole Sarge

Go Fund Me. http://www.gofundme.com/c49h5mjx8

According to the FB page, there is a Caring Bridge website with update on Chris.
