Talking WTB TH400 / 700R4 for sale

I am looking for a TH400 for my '67, prefer local or close to DFW with in reason.

I had an '87 model 700R4 built close to 12 months ago for the same truck. However, since I bought the '70, the '67 will now only be a weekend cruiser/racer and don't want to take a chance with trashing the 700. I have $1000+/- in the tranny and was built by a reputable local shop. I have all the paper work from when it was built along with extra govenor springs. The Bowtie Overdrives TV Made EZ kit goes with the tranny and a 2200 stall. The tranny has less than 1000 miles on it. My loss is your gain, I'd like to get $500 for the whole package but am willing to deal, no shipping. However, I will help deliver with in a reasonable distance from the DFW area. I would consider working out a trade for a TH-400. No warranty on the transmission.

Thanks,

Ryan

I'm interested but I think my truck has a TH-350
Maybe we can still work something out... What all is involved in switching over to a 700r4 do I just need a different driveshaft?
Thanks

Ryan, I believe I've got a short tailshaft 400 sitting in a corner of the garage. I got it from a guy I work with in a pkg deal & was told it was a working trans when pulled from the project vehicle but I can't be 100% as I never actually had it in one of my trucks.

I possibly even have the correct yoke that came w/it. Sound like what your after? What kind of deal would this be worth to you?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

I really want a 400, so that's the plan I'm going to stick with. I want to build it once and be done.

First Gen, it's a pretty straight forward swap. Move the tranny crossmember back a couple inches, shorten/balance the driveshaft and bolt it up. I have the tranny setup for a toggle switch lockup, so that's real easy. With the Bowtie Overdrive setup, the TV cable is a no brainer to set up. I really like the design of that kit.

Scoti, that's exactly what I'm looking for. If you don't mind, PM me your number and we'll chat.
