5 in. drop front

How can I drop my 68 5" in front and keep my drum brakes. Also, how do I change front drum and hub to 5 lug?

Re: 5 in. drop front

Get 5 lug disc brake spindles and rotors. New 5 lug axles out back.

This is what's available for 5 lug. What 5 lug drum brakes did you plan on running? You can do 6 lug drums with drop spindles, and re-drill the hub and drum for 5 lug I guess. Trucks switched to 5 lug disc in 71. Some cars have 5 lug front drums but no one I know of has posted trying to utilize those with truck spindles.

Re: 5 in. drop front

Do you know of a drop spindle I can use with drum brakes? That's what I would prefer to do.

Early Classic Enterprises, Performance Online, CPP.... any of them should have drop spindles for drum brakes. There's a few others too.

i'm pretty sure all drop spindles have to run discs.

DJM has some drop lower control arms that you can run to get down to 5" with the stock spindles and drum brakes.

Re: 5 in. drop front

Stupid me.... you are of course, correct. There aren't any drop spindles for drum brakes.
