4 Seat belts in 69 C20?
Hi everyone, I have a 69 C20 that appears to be completely stock. Original saddle floor mat, seat, matching engine block numbers and transmission. I do know it's been repainted once from a previous owner because there is paint on the seals and door panel chrome. What I'm wondering is if four seat belts were an option because so far I haven't seen another truck with four. The two middle belts are Robbins-JR-6704 belts and the outer ones are Irvin IC 4500.

Re: 4 Seat belts in 69 C20?
The extra buckles are for the factory shoulder belts but I don't see them listed on the spid. The first buckle even says not to use shoulder strap without lap belt.
Seat material is not original, looks to be 80/90s recover or more modern seat. Does it have b pillar straps or is there a plastic plug in the bolt hole?

Re: 4 Seat belts in 69 C20?
The two different suppliers tells me two were added by a PO. Also as Jesse pointed out, shoulder belts are not listed on the SPID. There should be date tags on the belts as well. I would guess someone had four people on that bench instead of three, utilizing lap belts.

I also have the "original" wheels but I'm not sure if they are now. What would the original 69 C20 hub caps look like? |

Re: 4 Seat belts in 69 C20?
This explains the wheels that I have laying in the garage with 73 hub caps.
The two middle belts are dated 1973 and the main driver and passenger belts are 1968(driver side exhaust manifold also dated from 68). Could they still be original even though being dated 68? On mobile so I can't really figure out the rotation for the images. |

Re: 4 Seat belts in 69 C20?
I don't think shoulder belts were even an option back then, I added a fourth set of seatbelts in all of my trucks, so I can carry four people , a bit of a squeeze, but it can be done
