radiator repair or replace?

Gotta question about my radiator. it's the 4 core in a 72GMC, with the a/t lines but the truck has the old 3 on the tree.
Anyway, it has sprung a pin hole leak near the top.
should i try to solder it myself?
will this work? or should i take it out and have it done at a shop somewhere? How much should i expect to pay for having this done? Or should i try and find a replacement for it. What fits?
Thanks, Big Blue 72

Welding a radiator is not a difficult process if you have some experience with it. A shop can pressure test it for any more leaks. Last time we took a rad to a shop it cost about $40 to repair. Call around the should be able to give you a quote.

If your in for the long haul, replacing it wouldn't be a bad thought....

A new radiator would be around $200, maybe less depending on where you get it from.

I had 2 holes repaired in my radiator for $20. Worked great, dropped it off and picked it up the next day.

I paid $153 for my new 4 core automatic. You can get them pretty cheap on the web. I think I was quoted $75 to clean and pressure test my old 3 row.
