what are these turn signals?

Hi there, wonder if anyone can identify these turn signals?

they are on my truck, but very corroded, I think they suit the look of the truck so would like to get the same, probably using the lenses it has though as they look used and goes with the rest.

The lense says Fomoco and been told its out of a 64 Mustang, but what about the rest?

thanks!

That sure looks like the factory reverse lamp base for stepsides and Suburban/Panels.

Re: what are these turn signals?

I had a look on lmc website and this came up....

then I searched on eBay for 55 parking light and somehow it doesnt look the same, looks too small, which then wouldnt match the black mount?
I mean too small because it looks like the chrome surround is almost the same size as the plastic lense and on mine it's slightly bigger

I measured mine the other day

but cant find the one VictoriaHardware is suggesting to compare

Re: what are these turn signals?

When I lived in Japan, to get my old 55 Chevy to meet there standards they had to add turn signals front and rear so that they were separate lights from the brake/park lights. I know I had trailer lights on the front and I think I had Ford lights on the rear. On my dodge van they added a variety of Japanese manufactures, probably what ever was on hand.

IF UK is anything like Japan, was , when ever that truck got brought in, they added whatever they could find to make it meet the laws.

Re: what are these turn signals?

That truck got brought in last month by myself. it was like this in the US.

Laws are similar here, but as mine is pre September 65 I can drive with brake lights and turn signals like its in the US.
But... has the truck came with those turn signals I plan to wire them in and also the front ones...
that's why I'd like to get the same it has now as i think it really suits the truck.

here's the truck

Def. didn't "come with them anywhere". They could possibly just be a JC Whitney light someone put on. (JC Whitney had/sold everything automotive cheap)

Re: what are these turn signals?

well, I'm going to try something different someone else suggested. just get the bulb metal holder....

like this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Replacemen...item41a1931e75

Not sure how easy its going to be to get the old one out or how I'm going to keep the new one in place... but it's worth a shot as it's only £5 for 2 of them..

Re: what are these turn signals?

those are not really turn signal lights per say for that vehicle. there is a single element there. most standard taillight, stoplight and turn signal lights were a double element 1157 bulb for 12v systems

Re: what are these turn signals?

PD64CR is a front turn lens for a 64 mustang
GUIDE FIA-55 is 55-57 chevy truck front turn signal base

so you have a mustang lens on the truck base.

Re: what are these turn signals?

ah! right, I got it! sorry brain wasnt working earlier..

when I said I had looked at photos of the 55-57 and it looked too small, is because I was comparing the lense being almost the same size as the chrome base when on mine the lense is smaller.

Obviously because the lense is off a mustang, if the chevy lense was there then would be the same.. doh!!
Ok thanks for the help guys, I'll take a note of the part numbers, I've ordered just the holders for now, if I can sort it then all good, its a cheap fix, if not then I'll order the 55-57 turn signal bases..

thanks a lot!
