Re: Project "Barney"
I bought an old Holley intake off craigslist for $35 and after 3 hours of getting the old pipe fitting plugs out, went and had it repolished. The guy did such a great job, I had my aluminum heads polished too. I know its more maintenance, but what the hell..

Re: Project "Barney"
wow. Can you clear those to keep the shine, or use something like Zoops seal? The polished heads are insane!

Re: Project "Barney"
The cam ended up having a defect on one of the lobes, so out it came. Went and got a new replacement. While I was at it, I replaced all the main and head bolts with ARP bolts.

Re: Project "Barney"
I thought I'd give an update on my truck. It got put on the backburner like alot of these sometimes do. My dream was to drive it on Hot Rod Power tour with my Dad. Well, plans change. After taking care of my Dad for a couple years, until his passing June 2015, I no longer have that dream. For now Iam going to make some changes to the truck which include a blown bbc, t400, narrowed rear and 4 link. I will be using Ansen slot mags along with Mickey Thompson drag radials in a 315/60r15 size. My friends think Iam crazy for changing all this, but I have to do it how I see it in my head. As for the polished sbc and 700r4, they will find a new home in my 55 Pontiac.

Re: Project "Barney"
On your intake and heads, were they just regular aluminum; not polished before? How much was it to polish them if you don't mind me asking

Re: Project "Barney"
Thankyou LOWELCO. I paid $ 300 for the polishing of the heads and intake. The intake was previously polished but very faded.
