Re: 70 CST CustomCamper20 Longhorn Big Block on ebay(!)
I am (was) pretty interested in it - asked for a SPID and he posted it on ebay. The "185034 Oil Change & Grease" pencil note on it kinda pokes a hole in the 22k original miles claim that the seller seemed to be so sure of... Bummer. I do like it, but I seriously question the mileage claim, making the price way too high for me not knowing what else is untrue. I think it IS very original, and I like that - but now assuming 222k. I would have much less of a problem with 222k if it wasn't claimed to be only 22k original with such certainty..
EDIT: Ok, perhaps I jumped to a conclusion here - there is a "." between the last two numbers of the pencil notation for grease and oil, which would put the last oil change a 18K, not 180K... Hmmm. What do you all think? Rockers replaced. Some original paint. I see bronze overspray on the interior panels.. Interior COULD be a 22k mi truck, but seems odd the bed wood is completely thrown away, even if it was rotten, it might have protected the rear drivetrain a bit better. Maybe not. I'd be rusted too if I sat outside for 46 yrs. Kinda torn. It's a loaded longhorn CustomCamper CST. Starting bid isn't unreasonable, even without bed wood. But much higher seems to be. I agree this would be nice restored. And I like the not-so-common color combo. Hmmm.
