Spring attachment location
I pulled the cowl and replaced the fresh air door, is this where the spring attaches to. I need to find a spring and need to know the proper attachment location. Pics of yours would be great.
Thanks. Keith

Re: Spring attachment location
Here are pictures of the spring and its installation. The springs are really hard to find since most failed as a result of exposure to the elements.

Re: Spring attachment location
Thanks guys!
Now the big question, since originals are nearly impossible to find has anyone found one that will work, if so where.

Re: Spring attachment location
In previous threads, folks have said they were going to use hardware store springs, but I've never seen any reports of how they worked. Before I found the one I posted above, I reworked a hardware store version. I never tried it. My concern was that the reworked spring was not nearly as "stout" as the original. I've even thought about having some professionally made to match the originals. However, there would be a minimum quantity requirement and the cost would probably be prohibitive.

Re: Spring attachment location
Well I found this today at Lowes, your right it is probably not as stiff as the stock one but it seems to work ok. We will see for sure when I get the ac up and going
