I now see that I have miss typed and it should have read for '16" inch rims not 15.

How much do you want for 3 of them. And thanks for looking.

Shipping would be to pembina ND 58271

there called flaps, there is a difference between bias and radial flaps. originals are for bias tires. you can get them new at tire stores. also 16" tires today are for tubeless applications. make sure you get tube type tires when you buy some.

Re: WTB Split rim/ lock ring rims rubber liners

thanks for the heads up, the tire shop I deal with is the only one in the area that will do a locking ring rim/split rims but they do not sell these items and other places want nothing to do with me and my rims...

very common with split rims, they don't call them man killers for nothing. honestly unless your building a 100% period correct truck update your rims. theres bunches of them for same here on the boards. I have 4 16.5 tubeless rims for 40.00 for all 4

Re: WTB Split rim/ lock ring rims rubber liners

Ya I hear ya but I just love the way they look with that locking ring. I already have the rims painted and ready to go just gathering the rest of the needed parts to make it like it was. Just my way of being a little diff from all the rest.

I see what locdoc says and go from there.

radial flaps are alot thicker did you clean and inspect where the locking ring goes on the rim REAL GOOD ???????????? it needs to be as new condition. these rims have killed many tire technitions. don't air them up unless there chained in a tire cage.......... please

yes rims are in good condition and have been professionally sand blasted and painted, and the tire tech is a old timer, been doing tires and rims commercial for more than 45 years. Cages are a must for sure . Thanks I will keep in mind your tips and add them to my files

Have you ever seen in person a guy get killed from a lock ring wheel from one of our year trucks. I do them myself and have never had a problem. I just ask because maybe I'm missing something and should be more careful, also I can't imagine gm not being sued with hundreds of thousands of these things running around back when...

Op sorry for hijacking. Please be careful but otherwise I'm with you they do have that special look. Burley.

Re: WTB Split rim/ lock ring rims rubber liners

The only and true issues with these type of rims is if the locking ring has NOT been seated right and the tire is aired up to full pressure, Then the ring can come off.

My plan I made with the old timer tire guy is we will get the assembly altogether and then air up the tire in a cage up to 15 lbs. The we will remove the valve stem and deflate, then back up to 15lbs and have a inspection, then If all is good up to normal 35 lbs or as per req.
all this is done in a tire cage as per shop protocol.

really not much to it. But I will state that these are really know as locking ring rims and not true split rims. Like the one that are held together with bolts in the center. like of very large construction tires rims.

I know a guy who was killed by one of these. Cut him right in two and his upper body half hit the roof of the shed. Very gruesome. Please be careful.
