55.2 radiator support to fender
Hey guys, anyone got a good part number/supplier for the bushings that go between the radiator support mount and fenders (large holes)? Look to be similar to the inner fender mounting bushings, but I can't find on any site.
Thanks much, Jim |

Hey Jim,
is this what you're looking for : Description : Large rubber grommets for mounting inner fenders to cab and radiator support. Includes steel sleeve, as original. 4 piece set does both fenders. I got them from Classic Parts : 37-851

Re: 55.2 radiator support to fender
That is what I used too, front is same as the cab bracket to inner fender. You need the flexibility because the frame and radiator support flexes as you go over driveway hump, ditches, logs, etc.

Re: 55.2 radiator support to fender
Thanks guys. I have a set for the inner to cab, but didn't realize they were the same for the radiator support as well. Guess I better add to the wish list! Thanks again. Cheers, Jim

Re: 55.2 radiator support to fender
Classic has a "fender seal" kit with those and all other seals; fender to cab, fender to grille, inner fender to cab, etc.

Re: 55.2 radiator support to fender
I am a little lost on this.
Are rods & bushings connected to the core support, going to the firewall? Where are they located? Does anyone have pics of the entire factory support rod setup or maybe better yet a updated hotrod version that someone home engineered & fabricated in their garage? |

Re: 55.2 radiator support to fender
i have to admit... i'm a little lost on this too
i don't remember any rubber on the front end sheet metal other than the big blocks under the core support and the little rubber isolators on the firewall to inner fender brackets i realize the 55-57 may be different from 58-59, then orrieg chipped in with ''That is what I used too'' maybe my crs is kicking in?

Re: 55.2 radiator support to fender
Here are photos of my 59 lower inner panel at firewall and near front. Think front is unique to 59-59 because of extended fenders and grille. The front does not show up in the FAM which does not have a 58-58 supplement in the main book you buy.

Re: 55.2 radiator support to fender
Does anyone have a pic of how the 55-57 bushing locates at the radiator support to fender? I assume if it is the same type bushing it merely goes between the support and fender. I can't find a pic in FAM or LMC's, etc. parts breakdown diagrams. Thanks, Jim

Re: 55.2 radiator support to fender
Interesting thread....
I bought my 57GMC as pile of parts and I don't know how the top of the front fenders attaches to the radiator support. See pic illustrating the problem. I can't see a way of bolting the top front of the fenders to the radiator support I'd appreciate some advice or pics please. Thanks Steve |

Re: 55.2 radiator support to fender
As I recall, there is a hole/bolt that goes through at the very top. I'll try to get a pic when I return home next week.
