What's a good set of files?
Can anyone suggest me a good set of hand files for mild steel work? I'd like a few round files in the mix too.
Say from 1/4 inch to to 1 inch? |

Re: What's a good set of files?
most of my good files actually came from the junk tool bins at pawn shops, but as long as you stick with American, Swedish and german you should be good. Nicholson will be your best bang for buck. get a good file card and keep those files clean
i've done a lot of work with just files and sand paper.

Thanks a ton brother!
I don't have the time to hit many pawn shops or garage sales, so I'll look into the Nichelson company. |

Re: What's a good set of files?
I recently ordered a few Nicholson's. I was disappointed to find out they are no longer made in USA. For what it's worth, none of them were flat. Definitely not the quality they used to be.
