73-80 guys I need help ASAP!!!!
Guys I need to find out how any of ya'll mounted your aftermarket tranny cooler. I've looked at Mike's article on 73-87.com but since his radiator support is totally different I can't mount it the same. I have my AC condenser(?) still mounted in there before the radiator but thinking about taking that out. I'm trying to find a permanent way to fix this so no zipties through anything. I'm going to mount using metal strips or straps but I can't find anything good enough to tie to. I'm lost on this
 I've got the holes for the steel lines but that's it. I've been looking and still can't see anything that would work and be strong enough.

well me being a garage door guy.....
i used track brackets..... if you look at your garage door on the vertical tracks you will see them..... they rock  or let me know i will send you some....for the cost of the ride

Good idea but the trouble is I don't really have anywhere to mount them. I've got some metal like you're talking about here just trying to find a place to attach it to. The upper and lower supports are not enough to attach to.

yeah, my support is different also. i took my grill off today to get ready to install my tranny cooler i ordered, next week. since i have quad headlights, my running lights are in the way of one of the holes to run the line.
i've already removed my condenssor, but i guess i'll have to wait till i get the cooler next week to see how i'll mount it for sure. i ordered the b&m 24,000 GVW one. |

This won't help you, Brandon, but it might help Eric. This is how the previous owner mounted my transmission cooler. I have the same truck as you, right down to the year and trim level, so it should give you some ideas. The inside edge of the passenger side mounts to the core support with small sheetmetal screws and the outside edge (leading edge, front edge, whatever...) mounts to the front of the bracket in the center under the latch.
