Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
Ive been working on the truck a good bit trying to get the chassis rolling again. This will be a daily driver when its together so Im updating all the brakes to late model stuff.
My gears were toast and one axleshaft was ate up bad. So I pulled those parts from a 65 rot-box my buddy and I have. Picked up some late model brakes and converted the axle. Also it had 2 plug welds in the chunk that were missing and one spot had a hole straight through. Welded up those holes and the axle tubes to the center section. New brake mounts made for late model disc with integrated drum parking brake ![]() Cut off Brake mounts ![]() New mounts installed ![]() Welded up tubes ![]() Installed and all together: ![]()

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
Did you machine down the axle hub on these to fit the transport wheels and newer rear disc or did you bore out the disc and the wheel?

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
I drive the hell out of this truck. Power Tours, crusies, daily, etc. I machined the axles down so that it can take any rotor from any parts store or any 6 lug wheel if I need a spare.
