Question about the Door Glass

Hope some one can help. I have run into problems with finding glass without scratches all over it. I've picked a few out of the junk yards, but it's the same result. I want tint on the Windows, but the scratches are showing though the tint. I would like to get new glass, but NOS or OEM seems non- existing. There is a method of deep polishing, glassrenue. But it's quite pricey.

Question is, LMC has glass for the doors. Can anyone say if they have used the LMC glass with no issues?

Re: Question about the Door Glass

Have you tried a local auto glass shop? That way you'd get to check out the glass before paying for it. A shop near me just replaced the windshield in my 82 pickup and it's a very nice piece -- perfect fit with a tint band. I'd bet they have the door windows, too.

Probably nothing at all wrong with LMC glass, but they don't have a good reputation for customer service.

Tried that route already, they were no help. That's why I started looking for NOS, but nothing has turned up. The glassrenu process sounds somewhat promising, but I need to ship the glass to Atlanta, then it will be $75 each side & each glass and there's no 100% guarantee that they can get all the scratches out. And we are talking about scratches that your fingernail catches on.

I guess I'm just hoping the LMC glass would make a good replacement. As far as customer service, I gotten a few damaged items from them, but they have always made it right.

Re: Question about the Door Glass

Well I did see that some of the other classic truck sites have replacement glass too. I just need to get busy on my doors.
