Need some help about which engine perches...

I'm helping a friend with an engine swap from 250 6 cylinder to a 6.0 L with an LT1 6 speed. The question is which engine perches and or motor mounts will work for this set up? Thanks for your help...ed...

Is this what you use for the 6.0L swap or just regular v-8 perches or towers?

I used the factory engine mount brackets at the frame and ls motor mount adapter brackets at the engine. If you search "ls swap brackets" on eBay, then input the vehicle you're working on, it'll narrow down your search.

So are you saying you used the 6 cylinder position and perches with the LS swap brackets? Do you mind sharing which bracket supplier and stock #? Thanks for your response...ed...

Re: Need some help about which engine perches...

I used the POL tubular mounts in the 6-cylinder location. Here's my reasoning. 1. I wanted the engine as far back as I could get it for better weight distribution. 2. The tubular mounts are stronger(less flex) and provide better clearance for exhaust manifolds, headers, etc.

However, you can use the stock 6 cylinder mounts and just use adapter plates. The stock manifolds will most likely interfere, though.

on your set up, (nice) did you use the dirty dingo slider mounts along with those perches? I want my ls to slide all the way back as well.

No, I used TransDapt plates. I'll never use them again. Some of the holes were slightly off, and I had to drill them out bigger to get the bolts to line up. I also bought a kit that had motor mounts with it. I had to replace them last year with Energy Suspension mounts because the metal was fatiguing due to being poorly and cheaply made. I'll use Dirty Dingo mounts if/when I do another LS swap.

The Dirty Dingo mounts work great, and slide for some adjustability. All high grade steel and Grade 8 or higher hardware. No mods needed on the stock engine perches.
