My dad and I did route 66 from Holbrook to Kingman last June.

I've been on that road many times,in my '64 Galaxie and even in the '69 GMC. Since the big rains a few years ago the stretch from Barstow Calif. to the Colorado river is pretty rough.
There used to be an old wreck of a depression era car way down in a gully between Oatman and Kingman Ariz. that sat there for probably 70 years but recently some guy pulled it out and put it in his front yard in Oatman Ariz. Shame really,I used to look down at that wreck and imagine what must have happened to some poor Okie and his family back during the dust bowl.

Was that another Chevy truck at 1:31+ ? Maybe a '74-'78 (went by pretty quick)?

The new Mexico rt 66 motor tour is scheduled for June 7-9,2012.starts in tucumcari and ends in Gallup. This year they are taking the old rt thru Santa fe too which should be fun. You can find info by querying on rt 66 motor tour new
Mexico. if you're anywhere near nm come over w your trucks and have some fun

Shouldn't there be a dedicated thread, such as Getting Your Kicks On Route 66 pictures? I live south of Ashfork AZ, have been on some parts with my MINI, would like to take The Green Barge and take more pictures.
