I have a 2wd C-20 that the bed is nothing but a bunch of rust particles holding hands...

Now I'm thinking about building a flatbed, totally wood, with removable sides...maybe some lockable storage boxes, do it up nice and go for the classic look.

My questions are, does anybody have any pics of the trucks with a wood flat/stake bed?

How about what kind of wood to make it out of? What do I treat it with to keep it from rotting out? And lastly...does anyone have plans for making a flat/stake bed?

What!!! A rusty truck in AZ.!!!

As far as what kind of wood to use that depend's on how much you want to spend this could become a very expensive project depending on what wood you use but id'e go with some sort of hard wood. None of them are cheap but some are cheaper then other's.

Swervin may be able to help you out in this department better than anyone in here.

If i were you id go to the 67-72 side and talk to Dubie (Tim) he has just built one for his older truck and it looks real nice he could prolly give some tips advice hes pretty cool like that ( you might also find him in chat sometimes)

It was originally a michigan truck, the cab and front have been replaced, but the bed is original.
