Thumbs up Score!!!

I'm pretty happy, just got back from a 4 hour round trip to the small village of Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, where I picked this up...Eaton HO52 axle, complete with G86 No-Spin (detroit locker), 4.56 gears, driveshaft, and track bar. Its from a '66 C/20 with 90,000 miles on the clock. I will have to whack off the track bar mount, coil mounts, and weld on new spring perches, but it will go into my GMC (eventually). also needs a good cleaning. oh yeah, the best part: got it for $100! Needless to say I'm very happy. Now for the pics.

Glad you made it back Adam and I'm glad you are happy with your new rear end. We were just happy to get rid of it. Especially with the new '76 GMC project truck coming on Tuesday. WAY TOO many projects.

Good luck and I'm glad you're happy!

Bryan- thank you very much! your dad is one very friendly and helpful guy, he let me use some of his tools to pop the diff cover and let us use the engine hoist to get it in the truck. his camaro and apache are sweet, too! this will be awesome in my truck.

Lucas-yeah, we used an engine hoist to get it in the back of my dad's ford...the rear wheels of the hoist were off the ground! that thing is one heavy mofo...i had to balance it on one hub while my dad got the track bar unstuck from some wood scraps...what a workout! as of now its still in the back of the ford...we don't have an engine hoist anymore so we''ll have to be creative in getting it outta there.

GMC71k20- I'm not exactly sure yet. Right now the truck is my DD, but I'm soon going to get a car, and start to work on the truck. So the axle is gonna sit around for a while, and i haven't even thought that far ahead. thanks for the idea, i will have to try the por-15.

Well there yah go, see it does happen... stuff can be found still.
You could just pull the third member and drop it in your diff...if what you has is an eaton also. No need for any purchase welding in that case.

I never noticed a tag I'll have to look at my setup once the ground dries up some of the snow and melting snow.
