Are all new bumpers the same?

I am going to be needing a new front bumper as shown - are these bumpers all the same quality or are there different quality bumper suppliers? Thanks

Re: Are all new bumpers the same?

I can't answer the question as asked. However, based on recommendations in previous threads, I ordered a front bumper from Brother's a couple years ago. The first one was delivered damaged due to poor packaging, but they made it right immediately. I'm pleased with the quality.

Re: Are all new bumpers the same?

I got one from Brother's years ago because I had read on here that they are the best. I've been happy with it.

Here's a link to an old thread started by DeadheadNM (Pete) recommending Electroplating of El Paso for bumper restoration/plating.

I traded my twisted one as a core and got one local for $220. Nice chrome and it's an original

I would get the one from your truck starightened and recromed becausde it isnt that bad. I ahd mine done that way. Shipped off the original white one from my truck and had it chromed but drove the 400 mikles to pick it up from the chromer.

Re: Are all new bumpers the same?

I've ordered bumpers from lmc and Classic Chevy, they were both the same quality, not bad. I would recommend painting the back side of them though as I got some surface rust on the backs after about a year. I have a friend who bought a premium bumper from Classic Chevy and it was beautiful, the chrome was much nicer looking than mine, the steel seemed to be the same thickness but the chrome was far nicer. I don't know if anyone would notice unless they were side by side but the premium bumper looked like it wouldn't grow surface rust on the inside as fast.

I've used Electroplating of El Paso for my original 69 Camaro number. The thing looks fantastic. Highly recommended.

Re: Are all new bumpers the same?

Ibwork for an aftermarket crash parts supplier and ibcan tell you there are different qualities. Look for CAPA certified or QUALITY as well as platinum plus (lkq) better chrome plating. And might be a thicker qaug metal as well.
