Lowering body mounts?

Has anyone lowered the body mounts 73-87 c10? What kind of issues did you run into with steering geometry/ lengths? Was it worth the time, obviously small gains will be made?

Re: Lowering body mounts?

Jeff, I did a 2" angled (front to back) bodydrop on mine. I left the front (rad. support mounts) alone, lowered the bulkhead/bedsides/gate 2" on the floor & then lowered the cab mounts to match.
It was some work, however I feel it was one of the best mods I made to our truck & would do it again in a heartbeat if I started to build another truck.
There were no problems with the steering, shift linkage, seat, ect. at the amount I did. I altered the floor between the heavy supports running front to back & had to notch & box the rear cab crossmember the width of the frame as it now is slightly below the top of the frame. I can go into more detail if it is something you think will help. Lorne
