After years of my drivers door not closing correctly actually looked and found there is a bushing that goes on the striker bolt that is gone.

can anyone point me in the direction of the correct bushing? I looked on amazon but not sure which bushing would fit and figure surely some of you guys have had to go through the same thing and may can help!

I was looking for a retainer clip in the miscellaneous Help! section of Autozone recently and saw them there. I think it was the Dorman section.

Go to Home Depot and get 1/2" pex pipe. It works perfect.

Re: Need the bushing that goes on the door striker bolts

The only reason I noticed them is because I'd just gutted my doors and rebuilt them including new pins and bushings for the hinges and strikers that came with new bushings. The blister pack I saw had the same grey plastic bushings that came on my strikers and it was labeled as GM striker bushings. PEX gets universal praise from everyone that's tried it, I don't think you can go wrong either way.

You may want to consider replacing the door pins and bushing also . What happens is the door drops and the door strike is having to lift the door to align it for it to close . Strike takes a beating an beats up on the bushing . Don't be surprised if you have to replace them regularly if hinges are not rebuilt .

mine came in a kit of 4 pieces.

and guys my passenger side bolt wouldn't budge and as expected it get rounded off fairly good trying so with that I want to just replace it.

called chevy dealer and the parts dept is closed on saturday anyone know of the correct part number for a identical striker bolt as the original? truck is an 87 model v10 I'll just order one on ebay or amazon probably have it sooner than i can make it to the dealer as I can't get there during the week after work. As the doorman type stuff isn't exact and since my drivers door one is original and i can obviously tell the doorman fitting looks different id rather have an oem now piece.

Good news is I got the drivers door bushing on and it shuts and fits like a glove now
