Factory Rear Bumper Location/Placement Questions

I need to fab hitch receiver that doubles as a bumper bracket and I have no idea where the bumper should sit vertically or horizontally in relationship to the box sides and rears. Can anyone provide any sort of dimensional data? Below are pics of the two dimensions I need: 1) bottom of tailgate to top of bumper and 2) gap between bumper and rear of box side.

Once I have these, I can model it up and start cutting and welding.

Thanks,
Ben

If you are talking about the sport bumper.
I measured 1= 2" and 2= 3/4".
1 was measured with the gate hanging on the chains, shouldn't make much difference.

It seems that there was a lot of variation in the mounting height of step bumpers... high, low and seemingly anywhere inbetween. I'm not sure there was any spec on the mounting height. Might be best to figure out how high your hitch needs to be and go from there.

I greatly appreciate the measurements. As far as the 2" measurement goes, that sounds like it would put the bottom right about where the front bumper bottom is off of the bottom of the front fender.

Thanks again,
Ben

I am just going to fab up a bracket that puts the bumper where it needs to be and then put the receiver an inch below that. At least I have some direction now.

Thanks,
Ben
